Marie-Louise Clayton

Marie-Louise completed a 30 year career in industry in 2008 to work as a professional non-executive across a variety of sectors. She holds/has held non-executive Board roles in Forth Ports plc. Zotefoams plc., Diploma plc, Ocean Rig ASA and Geoffrey Osborne Ltd. Her background is in Law and then Finance and she has worked in a number of sectors, including telecommunications, engineering, manufacturing, power and oil and gas. Marie-Louise’s last executive role was as Finance Director of Venture Production plc. – A FTSE 250 oil and gas company focused on the North Sea. Over her career she has worked internationally in Turkey, Switzerland, USA, Scotland and England and has developed a good understanding of different cultures and styles of ‘getting things done’. Her roles have been broad financial roles which included business strategy, risk management, commercial, sourcing and IT conducting these in situations of both growth and cost reduction.

Her non executive roles have covered FTSE 250 companies, a fast growing small cap, a start up, a private family owned business and a charity. She relishes the diversity this offers and combines it with providing angel input to early stage businesses as well as mentoring teenagers through to senior executives.

On a personal level Marie-Louise has managed the competing priorities of an international career and a strong commitment to her family.
